Fix The Root, Not Just The Pain
At Platinum Chiropractic, we believe in the power of patient education. We often hear questions about how our approach differs from other chiropractic practices, and we’re always happy to explain. We view patient education as a vital component of our practice, empowering you to make informed decisions about your health and well-being.
Most chiropractors you’ll find in the area are what we call conventional chiropractors. They primarily focus on providing relief by temporarily improving range of motion and reducing muscle pain and spasms. Their methods typically center on managing symptoms, or what we call secondary conditions. These practitioners typically employ a variety of techniques, including general manipulation, physical therapy modalities such as electrical stimulation and ultrasound therapy, along with muscle stretching and massage techniques. Conventional chiropractors are highly skilled in addressing these immediate physical concerns.
Unlike conventional chiropractors, here at Platinum Chiropractic, we focus on Neuro-Structural Correction. This approach enables us not only to provide relief from immediate physical concerns but also to address the underlying cause of your health condition. Our examination, which includes a Neuro-Structural Corrective Spinal Analysis, Nerve & Muscle Testing, Orthopedic & Neurological Testing, and 4-View Motion X-ray Studies, enables us to detect and correct Neuro-Structural Shifts that may be obstructing the normal function of the central nervous system. By focusing on the root cause, we aim to provide long-term relief and solutions to improve your overall health and well-being.
We’re all familiar with normal body temperature, which is 98.6 degrees Fahrenheit. To understand abnormal eyesight, hearing, and irregular heartbeats, what do we need to understand? We need to know what is normal. It’s no different when we’re talking about spinal alignment; there’s a normal range. Walking around with Neuro-Structural Shifts is no different from driving around a vehicle with a bent frame that’s badly in need of alignment. Suppose regions of your body have been displaced or shifted, gradually or due to injuries. In that case, the body will experience abnormal stress on the underlying structures, including spinal bones (vertebrae), ligaments, intervertebral discs, tendons, and muscles. Those abnormalities will result in deterioration, degeneration, and discomfort. If your body temperature is slightly higher or lower than 98.6 degrees, it’s no big deal. Likewise, if you have minor shifts in your spine, it’s no big deal. However, significant structural abnormalities, which are likely to be the underlying cause of your secondary conditions, must be addressed.
Our exam gives us a comprehensive understanding of your posture, balance, and weight distribution. Posture is a gateway to balance, health, and long-term function. It is not uncommon for people to have a weight imbalance of more than 20 pounds between their left and right sides. However, this is not normal. Imagine the impact of this imbalance. With every step, you risk putting extra strain on one of your hips or knees, potentially leading to wear and tear over time.
Muscle & Nerve Testing helps us understand how your nervous system is functioning and where stress is being carried in the muscles that support your spine. Combined with Orthopedic & Neurological Testing, these objective measures give us a clear picture of how your body is responding to Neuro-Structural Shifts, allowing us to build a care plan that targets the actual cause of your symptoms.
Our 4-View Motion X-ray Studies provide a detailed view of the body’s internal structures. While weight-bearing, standing up, or bending in specific directions, we can observe precisely how gravity affects the spine and how each segment moves. We can identify degenerated spinal bones and discs, as well as old injuries, and rule out infections, tumors, and any other conditions that could complicate the case, such as congenital anomalies (people born with special spines). Our number one goal is to ensure the person’s spine is safe for adjustment. We also want to know precisely where an adjustment is needed and which exercises to prescribe for proper structural rehabilitation.
Through our comprehensive testing, we can determine whether you are indeed walking around with a Neuro-Structural Shift. If so, we create a personalized care plan based on your examination and the severity of your problem. This care plan includes specific Neuro-Structural spinal adjustments, rehabilitation exercises, and lifestyle modifications, such as changes to your diet, exercise regimen, and sleep habits. Additionally, we include Progress Examinations to re-measure your improvements both objectively and subjectively.
After addressing your initial concern, we provide tailored wellness and protection plans designed to keep your spine aligned and prevent any recurrence of the issues that brought you to us. Our mission goes beyond merely treating your current condition; we aim to help you achieve and maintain optimal health for the long haul. We’re committed to empowering you to embrace a vibrant life and equipping you for a future brimming with vitality and well-being.
