Omega 3s & Pain

By now, you may have heard about supplementing Omegas 3s. But do we really understand why they are so important, how they can help reduce our pain levels, and WHY we need to supplement?
Pain is a signal from our body telling us there’s something happening. Usually, during chronic pain, we have an overproduction of proinflammatory substances and not enough anti-inflammatory substances in our body. This is diet-related and can have a massive impact on our health and pain reduction.
Omega 3’s are essential fatty acids that our body needs to produce healthy and normal cells. They are the building blocks necessary to make brain tissue, nerve cells, and blood vessels. Without them, our bodies do the best they can with lesser quality building blocks. They create poorly functioning cells and building materials, which lead to inflammation, pain, and reduced brain and nervous system health.
The counterparts to Omega 3 are Omega 6 fatty acids, which are pro-inflammatory and help break down tissues. As our Omega 3s decrease and our Omega 6s increase, our inflammation also increases. Which, more times than not, increases our PAIN level as well.
Historically, when our diets and lifestyles were of natural origins, such as that of a hunter and gatherer society, we got a healthy balanced ratio of 1 to 1 Omega 3 to Omega 6.
Unfortunately, the modern-day average American’s ratio is 1:20!!! That is drastically out of balance from our historical levels of 1:1. No wonder everyone is inflamed and sick all the time. With large-scale farming, the depletion of nutrients in our soil, diets high in processed carbohydrates like bread, and genetically modified grain-fed animals, it is nearly impossible to get the appropriate balance of Omega 3s to Omega 6s from a healthy diet alone.

This is why we recommend only the highest quality Omega 3’s from clean sources without fillers or allergens, along with eating  healthy fats . If you want to learn more about how to identify a high-quality Omega 3 supplement, you can check it out here.

Plus, supplementing with Omega 3s doesn’t come with the adverse side effects that taking  over-the-counter pain relievers such as Advil and Tylenol  come with. Pain relievers actually leach nutrients from your system. Conversely, Omega 3 supplements ADD a staple component that aids your body in creating healthy cells.

Supplement with Omega 3s to reduce your pain level and give your body the essential building blocks it needs to get and stay healthy.
We will have samples of our Omegas 3s in soft gels, liquid, and our vegan option all this week.
